Empower a 6 week accelerator programme for women which focused on building technology ventures. It is launched by a Mumbai based zone startup.
Empower shortlist 15 women enterpreneurs. Supported by partners including Vodafone, GIZ, Google,and SheEQ. By the help of the programme women are identifies who are focused on solving local issues, high tech device which can be converted into global products and enabling them in creating systems with Artificial Intelligence.
Ajay Ramasubramaniam, Director Zone Startups India, said,
“Through our accelerator programme, and various boot-camps, workshops, demo days hosted by us we realised the need for having a focused programme that works with women entrepreneurs in tech businesses. The problems faced by a lot of women entrepreneurs are unique, and we feel that there is a case for having a dedicated accelerator programme for women entrepreneurs.”
“during the last 26 months of operations, Zone Startups India has accelerated the growth of 72 startups; 11 being co-founded by woman entrepreneurs. Three of these women have gone on to raise more than 30 crore.”
The empoWer initiative will be launched with road shows across cities which includes Bangalore, Mumbai and NCR. Through this initiative the participants will get acces to Workshops, Mentoring, industry connect, case studies of successful womenled startups, peer network, business development opportunities and investor connect.

“In addition to empowering 15 selected women entrepreneurs, we believe that ‘empoWer – Accelerating Women Entrepreneurship’ would demonstrate a successful replicable model of harnessing the potential of innovative women enterprises.”
