Yumist a Gurgaon based startup has stopped their operations in Bangalore and will now focus on Delhi-NCR region. It was founded in 2014 by Alok Jain a former Zomato official and Abhimanyu Maheshwari a restaurateur.
It provides customers with home made meals by preparing them at their own kitchen. After placing the order the meal is delivered within 30 minutes hot and fresh. Since August 2015 the startup was working in a rental kitchen in Bangalore due to which they had to pause their operations their as it stopped them to bring similar enhancements as NCR and fragmented the brand.
In NCR Yumist had an area about 12000 sq ft for their mega kitchen. It will help building their customers and they are planning to provide breakfast snacks as well besides the dinner and lunch. Yumist claims that in past 3 weeks they have generated almost doubled the revenue and order.
Yumist raised $2 million funding from Ronnie Screwvala’s fund Unilazer Ventures and Orios Venture partner their existing investor. Steven Lurie a valley based investor also participated in this round.
Ronnie Screwvala of Unilazer Ventures said
“We have a great product at Yumist and it’s made a great connect with consumers and so it’s best to focus on one territory and the NCR territory is the largest in the country so this is a good step forward for the growth plans of Yumist.”
