Urbanclap to sell its services to Snapdeal

UrbanClap a hyperlocal service marketplace will launch their personal services on Snapdeal’s platform. Other e-commerce marketplace in partnership with Snapdeal are Redbus, Zomato and Cleartrip.

Snapdeal’s Android app will now provide 80+ services of Urban Clap such as home cleaning, salon at home, wedding photographers and many more services. After getting traction with this, then Snapdeal can starting taking commission on every deal. Snapdeal has also tied up with Zomato, Redbus and Cleartrip which allows customers to order food online and book travelling tickets. The services are currently available on 7 cities, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Snapdeal has also partnered with real estate companies such as Provident Housing, Runwal Group and Provident Housing and soon to launch their services on its website.

Urbanclap was launched in October 2014 by Varun Khaitan, Abhiraj Bhal and Raghav Chandra. It’s operational in 7 cities , with a team of 36,000 professional and 5k customer request everyday. With a team of trusted professional and home services, Urbanclap aims to be at top position. Backed by SAIF Partners, Bessemer Venture and Accel Partners.

In 2010 Snapdeal was launched by Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal as a deals site, later it became a marketplace. It raised $200 million from Canada’s Ontario Teachers Pension Plan, at a valuation of $6.5 Billion. Products and services sold on Snapdeal includes Homes, Automobiles and food.

Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon are facing huge losses due to the discounts owing to price wars. Snapdeal reported a loss of Rs. 1,328 crore in March 2015.
