TinyOwl a India based restaurant delivery startup has shut down its operation in all the cities expect Mumbai. Roadrunnr and TinyOwl are planning to come up with single delivery platform Runnr. Soon it will start its operations in Mumbai. TinyOwl in not the only one to run into trouble despite having support from marquee investors.
Tinyowl was founded by Harshvardhan Mandad, and it has raised funding of more than $27 million in 4 funding round from Sequoia capital and matrix partners. It was operational in Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Ahemedabad, Chennai, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Nagpur, Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
Tinyowl asked the users to use their rewards points before 22nd May. According to the company the money in mywallet can be used anywhere where Citrus Pay is accepted. It has been struggling to keep their business going but in November last year it shut down its operations in Delhi, Oune, Chennai and Hyderabad with firing 112 employees. By august this year it will further laid of around 160 employees.
Tinyowl services will be available in selected areas of Mumbai which includes Colaba, Churchgate, Mahim, Lower Parel, Marine Lines, Worli, Mumbai Central, Matunga East among others. It has retained user data with the assurance to return with a better product in future.
