SHEROES job and career platform for women raised funding

Delhi based job and career platform for women- SHEROES has raised $1.8 Million in Series A round of funding. The funding was led by Lumis Partners. Other investors participated in the round include Existing investor- Raghav Bahl led Quintillion Media, Angel investor- Rajul Garg and Lumis Partners.

The funds will be used for strengthening technology, resources and to expand opportunities for work from home initiative. Pankaj Bansal from HR Fund and Sandeep Sinha from Lumis Partners will join the SHEROES board.

It was founded by Sairee Chahal in 2014. It acts as a platform for jobs and career opportunity for women. It focuses on career options including work from home jobs, partnerships, part time jobs and startups, etc. It claims to be the largest professional forum for women in the world.

Currently it has members from more than 20,000 locations and more than 12,000 companies actively uses the platform. Its clients include Castrol, ClearTax, Fidelity, India Quotient, Helion Venture Partners, Paytm, MakeMyTrips, etc.

In August 2015 SHEROES raised funding of $770k in an angel round from Raghav Bahl led Quintillion Media, 500 Startups and a group of individuals including Rajan Anandan, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Mekin Maheshwari, Binny Bansal, Girish Mathrubhootham, Mekin Maheshwari, Krishna Mehra and Indus Khaitan.

Other startups in this space includes Careesma, Jobstreet, TimesJobs, Glassdoor, Iimjobs and more.
