ShabdaNagari a Hindi social networking portal has raised an undisclosed amount of bridge funding from ah! Ventures. The funds will be raised for its Marketing, Promotional activities and Product development. The startup had earlier raised a funding of Rs 1.2 crore from Kanpur Angels and clutch of other investors.
Shabdanagari started their operations in January 2015 by Amitesh Misra, Amaresh Chandra Misra and Nikhil Tiwari with a unique proposition to offer social media platforms providing services to hindi speaking audience. The startup helps the users to interact in their local language and be able to share their thoughts online. With the services users can post pictures, articles, questions and videos.

With a team of 15 employees the Startup claims to have 2 lakh monthly visits with 8 lakh page views on its platform. Around 10% traffic comes from USA, Canada and UAE whereas 80% traffic from India. According to the data from over 66 crore Hindi speaking individuals in India only 5% – 10% were being comfortable in communicating in English.
