SAP-ISB collaboration to boost social entrepreneurship

SAP SE and ISB have announced collaboration in order to jumpstart the social entrepreneurship ecosystem with relevance to national priorities. The ISB-SAP Jumpstart will identify five social enterprise startups and provide training, mentorship and access to networks to accelerate their growth.

SAP SE (System analyses and Programme networking; Systems, Applications & Products in Data Processing) is a German multinational software corporation that makes enterprise software to manage business operations and customer relations. The Indian school of Business (ISB) provides management education through different programmes like Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), short-duration Executive Education programmes for middle and senior management (CEE), a part-time Post Graduate Programme in Management for Senior Executives (PGPMAX) and so on.

Dilip Kumar Khandelwal, Managing Director, SAP Labs India and EVP, Enterprise Cloud Services, SAP SE said

“Our objective is to create investible and growth oriented social enterprises that would address unmet social needs and create significant employment opportunities. We will provide mentorship and connects to technology experts to speed up the growth of the social enterprises.”

SAP’s collaboration with ISB is in order to execute its strategy to boost social entrepreneurship through alliances with leading Indian academic institutions. With this initiative, SAP will expand its thought leadership to a much wider segment in the entrepreneurship ecosystem. SAP will bring in expertise on go-to-market, technology trends, customer acquisitions, design thinking methodology among others for social enterprises under this programme.


It is a fixed four month term mentor-driven programme which will provide identified startups access to business, academic mentors and subject experts through the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at ISB and SAP. A nationwide process will be carried out in order to identify startups with the involvement of the SAP, ISB and other relevant experts from the startup eco-system.


Collaborations between such reputed organizations, and such initiatives undertaken by them will definitely help boost the startup ecosystem in the country.
