Reliance Jio has announced the launch of around $100 million for new age digital startups in India. It has created separate entity in form of the Jio Digital India Startup fund. The funds will be used to provide support to internet and digital startups in order to create business solutions and innovative solutions.
With this the company will attempt to build its customer base from 0 to 100 million customers in the least possible time. It tactics to reach their goal includes a boquet package to new subscribers that has voice call, data and Jio suite of apps for free until the end of 2016.
Handsets with Jio SIM worth only INR Rs 2,999 from their own LYF brand is also available for the users.
“We have created a Reliance Jio Digital India Startup Fund and are also working to create digital entrepreneurship hubs in key cities and towns in India. Our aim is to build a platform for young Indians who want to create businesses of the future.”
