OYO Rooms tied up with Travelport a UK based travel commerce platform

OYO Rooms a Gurgaon based online hotel aggregator has tied up with Travelport a UK based travel commerce platform. With this deal users of Travelport can book hotels from the 6,000 hotel properties of OYO.

OYO Rooms was founded in 2013 by Ritesh Agarwal. It is an online platform for hotel booking, cab services and restaurants. Currently it operated in more than 180 cities and in January 2016 it started its operations in Malaysia.



In April 2016, it raised more than $100 million funding in its fifth funding round from Sequoia Capital, Greenoaks Capital, Lightspeed Ventures, SoftBank and existing investors.

UK based Travelport connects independent properties with hotel providers to its 68,000 agencies worldwide. It allows travel providers to connect with offline and online travel buyers in a B2B travel marketplace. It offers 650,000 hotel properties across 180 countries, 36,000 car rental locations and 400 airlines worldwide.

Travelport is headquartered in Langley, Berkshire. It is a travel commerce platform providing technology, distribution, payment and other solutions for the tourism and travel industry.


OYO rooms expanded its services to northeast and offered 250 rooms in Gangtok and Darjeeling.

Niklas Andreen, senior vice president of hospitality, Travelport said,

Our industry-leading connectivity enables us to directly acquire specific hotel content, as well as requested local hotel chains and individual properties, and we are looking forward to continuing to expand our offerings in this area throughout the year.”
