NewsDistill a news aggregator app rasied funding from a clutch of investors


NewsDistill a Hyderabad based news aggregator app rasied a seed funding of $100k from a clutch of investors including Ramana Thummu- Vice President of eBay, Ganesh Narasimhan- Senior Director at Box.com and Sudhir Mallem of Uber.

It was founded in 2015 by Narasimha Reddy. It aggregates news source from varoius Indian newspapers including RSS Feeds, television channels, social media and custom feed in 8 major Indian languages other than English. The news is presented via innovative algorithms to their users through a rich user interface.

Recently it has upgraded their product features by adding a personalized ‘newsplayer’ which auto-reads news on users mobile. Besides working on to create a hyper local filters, it has introduced a patented robotic voice to keep the readers connected to the neighborhood.

Narasimha Reddy, co-founder of NewsDistill said,

“There is a huge demand for personalised news feed on mobile apps especially for those who wish to spend quality time reading similar news from various media channels through multiple languages and quick filters. NewsDistill is embarking upon expansion and product development to meet the demand. The current round of investment will be used towards product development and talent aquisition. Our short vision is to become the top news aggregator in India in the next few months.”
