Junglee a subsidiary of Amazon to compete against Olx and Quikr

Junglee a Indian Subsidiary of Seattle based Amazon has launched its services which enables them to sell used goods. The services are currently available in Bangalore and are looking forward to expand its services in other cities as well, it allows the users to sell the pre-owned goods under categories such as Books, Mobiles, Watches etc.

Junglee is in direct competition with other companies like Olx and Quikr. Whereas Amazon India, used Junglee as a the Launchpad, which is currently competing against Flipkart.

A spokesperson from Junglee.com said

“Junglee will also promote sale of first-hand goods from small sellers who may not have the scale to list on larger marketplaces and may want to limit their business to one city.”

This initiative will be headed by General Manager of Junglee, Mahendra Nerurkar.

It claims to be the only online marketplace in India which allows the customers to buy used and new products from all types of sellers including home entrepreneurs, micro business and individuals. It aims to bring small seller on its platform to increase its user base.

The platform will provide pack, pick and delivery services. Once the transaction is complete it will charge a commission. In 2014, It tied up with Quikr to allows its users to sell their used and old products on Junglee. After this it was testing grounds to launch its own service to sell pre-owned goods.
