Inclov a Gurgaon based matchmaking app for the disabled raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Raghav Bahl- Digital news venture Quintillion Media Pvt Ltd and Sarbir Singh- Former MD of Capital 18.
Other investors participated in this round include Praveen Visesh- Director at Deutsche Bank, Apparswamy Subramanian- Corporate Banking head at RBL Bank, Narayanan Venkatraman- Former MD at Mount Kellett, an investment firm and Rohan Gogari, Director of Kesar Group.
The funds will be used to launch its app in iOS version and to redesign its Android app, also funds will be used for research & development of technology.
It was founded in 2014 by Shankar Srinivasan and Kalyani Khona. The app is accessible to 1 Billion disabled users and they are matched on the basis of medical condition, lifestyle choices, cure availability and level of independence.
Users with colour blindness, retina disorder, visual impairment and cerebral palsy among others can access the app easily without depending on their family or friends. Currently the app has more than 4000 users with more than 1300 matches.
Other matchmaking startup raised funding includes Aisle- Bangalore based matchmaking app raised $183k in its Pre-Series A round of funding from Ah! Ventures and TermSheet. Dil Mil raised $2.7 million in Pre-Series A round of funding from Transmedia Capital, CSC Upshot, Nelstone Ventures, Maiden Lane Ventures and a bunch of angel investors.
