IdeaChakki a foodtech venture raised funding from Ratan Tata

IdeaChakki a Delhi based foodtech venture raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Ratan Tata.

The funds will be used to expand their business into other areas, expand their team and to strenghten the technology.

It was founded by Monica Narula, Noopur Tiwari and Gunjan Mehrish. It provides digital video menus for restaurants and allows the customers to share their experience of food and beverages around the world.

Gunjan Mehrish, co-founder IdeaChakki, said,

“Ratan Tata’s validation of the idea will help in attracting more investors as his experience in managing and running the Taj Group of hotels cannot be overlooked. Moreover, we are looking forward for our next round of funding through Enablers.”

Currently it aims to target premium restaurants in Delhi-NCR and to set up its first international office in Paris.

Its app allows the users to look for choices based on their dietary preferences. It shares short video as well which explains the recipe of the dishes. It allows their users to navigate through menu and provides a simple picture of what to expect from the dish.

Other startups received investment from Ratan tata includes FirstCry, Dogspot, CashKaro, NestAway technologies, Lenskart, SnapBizz, Moglix, Tracxn, Teabox, Urban Ladder, Snapdeal, Bluestone, Kaaryah, Ola and Invictus Technology.
