Haptik raises an undisclosed series B funding from Times Internet

Haptik – A Mumbai and San Franciso chat based personal assistant app has raised an undisclosed amount of funding in its Series B round from Times Internet. Aakrit Vaish, co-founder and CEO, Swapan Rajdev, co-founder and CTO, established this startup in August 2013. In September Haptik raised a funding of $1 million in seed funding from Kalaari Capital.

Aakrit Vaish, the CEO of Haptik said that
” We started Haptik so that consumers could get the most out of their phones, without the huge learning curve of navigating hundreds of different apps. Ordering food or checking into a flight should be as easy as asking for it,” Aakrit also added that “they are happy to partner with Times Internet and look forward to leveraging synergies.”
Gautam Sinha, CEO of Times Internet said
“Haptik is part of a growing global trend towards chat-based commerce. They have great affinity amongst their current users, and we hope to help them continue to innovate on the service, while expanding their user base.”
The funds raised by Haptik will be used in improving Artificial Intelligence, business operations and product development. With the team of more than 300 experts, Haptik is moving towards mass adoption. Haptik is available on both iOS and Android platforms. Popular requests Haptik fulfills include food delivery, travel bookings, online shopping, etc.
