EduRev an ed-tech startup based in Gurgaon has raised an undisclosed amount of funding in its Pre-Series round A from Pradeep Reddy Kamasan, part of Hyderabad Angels Group. The funds raised will be utilized in introducing a new model which will help the college in admissions.
Pradeep Reddy used to ran a technology firm in USA before moving to Bangalore. According to him EduRev has huge potential in the south, earlier it focused on North India with its base in Delhi-NCR.
EduRev was founded by Kunal satija and Hardik Dhamija in 2013. It started it pilot operations in 2015 and in may launched its official portal. It is an educational network that connect teachers and students with courses and learning material. The platform contains more than 100 courses with more than 70k documents, tests and videos. It claims that more than 40k students have already joined their network.

“We want to build the largest educational network of the country. We want to make every field of education available for free online and monetize on the data. There lies a huge gap between the online and offline ed-tech space,which is helping institutions to shift their model from completely offline to online plus offline.”
EduRev, presently is working with 24 clients and have earned a revenue of Rs 14 lakhs. It closely competes with portals like Career360 or Shikhsa, but have an advantage with model of offering free things. Initially it started their operations in Chandigarh, now they are operational in Delhi, Haryana and Pune.
The startup has its own Android app with over 4k downloads. It will soon launch more free courses in major fields. For backend they are planning to use tablets with EduRev technology as an alternative for books in school and college.
