DailyRounds a Bengaluru based mobile app for doctors raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Accel Partners. Other investors participated in this round include Powerhouse Ventures, Akusa Holdings and Beenext.

The funds will be used to expand its user base and to add more specialists to the team. In March 2016, it raised a funding of $500k from Kae Capital a Venture Capital Firm, GSF accelerator and Teruhide Sato.

It was founded in 2014 by Dr. Deepu Sebin, Priyaank Choubey and Nimmi Cherian. It is a mobile app for medical schools, doctors, surgeon and physician to publish their articles, images and clinical cases. It claims to provide a verified diagnosis within 24 hours of submission. Currently with more than 250,000 users it is available on both iOS and Android platform.

Dr. Deepu Sebin, co-founder and CEO, DailyRounds said,

“We are a social network for doctors, built by doctors. More cases are discussed on our mobile app than in all the medical colleges in India combined. Our app store reviews will substantiate the fact why doctors vouch for DailyRounds as the one app that they always keep on their phones.”

DailyRounds offers specialties including Internal Medicine, Primary Care, Radiology, Emergency Medicine and Cardiology. To ensure their medical verifiability and credibility, doctors have to go through a 3 level security test. Currently it has a team of 32 members which include 8 doctors.

It is direct competition with Porter, Goqii, Curofy, and Practo. Other healthcare startups raised funding include Cureinstant raised $150k in Seed funding from Dr. Rameshwar Kumar. Tricog raised Series A round of funding from Blume Ventures.
