Cult – A fitness startup get a funding from Mukesh Bansal

A Bangalore based fitness startup Cult raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Mukesh Bansal, Myntra’s co-founder and former head of Flipkart. Rishab Telang and Deepak Poduval founded Cult in 2015. Cult focuses in functional exercises, machine and equipment free training programs.

The team at Cult focuses on functional training which does not include treadmill or any of the fitness machines, all it contains is a boxing ring, speed chutes, jump ropes, tyres and hammers, boxing bags, resistance bands and plyometric boxes. If Functional training is performed correctly, it will lead to a better joint mobility and stability. Some of the training includes High-Intensity trainings, combat sports training, strength & conditioning, speed & agility training. Functional training attempts to develop exercises which allow individuals to perform the activities of daily life more easily and without facing any injuries.

Rishab Telang founder of Cult said

” We don’t have a single treadmill or any other fancy gym equipment. Instead, we have got certified trainers to provide special attention to every member for the curated exercises at our facility.”

Mukesh bansal former head of flipkart said

“This is a unique and interesting idea in the space of fitness. I have personally trained here and realize the potential it has to offer. They are looking to expand within and outside of Bangalore with the fresh capital.”
