Sripad Vaidya, Co-founder and COO at ConfirmTkt
“Sometimes, no quota can get you confirmed tickets for a train journey. ConfirmTkt Alternates is a simple solution for the complex problem, which eliminates the need of agents who charge hefty fees from passengers to book confirmed tickets. The ConfirmTkt App does it free of cost.”
Pranav VP of Business and Growth said
“In a country where Railway is the most used travelling source, not everyone gets confirmed tickets. As per our stats, 41 percent of people remain in wait list, out of which 16.4 percent eventually end up staying on that waiting list.”
The startup provides its customers with 4 options such as, Train + Train- train combination with layover time, Train + Bus- combination of train and bus, only Bus- direct bus for your destination and Bus + Bus if no direct bus is available.
If there is an unavailability of direct tickets, then ConfirmTkt Alternates find vacant seats by looking for un-used quota of seats for the same train from different stations or two different trains by therefore splitting your journey. If this doesn’t help, then ot suggests a combination of trains and buses to reach your destination.
Its competitors include RailYatri.in- a multi model train travel app which crossed a million downloads in 2015. In June 2015 it raised a Pre-Series round A funding led by Omidyar Network, Helion Venture Partners & existing investors Ujama and Blume Ventures.
