Canvera Digital Technologies an online photography startup raised funding from Info Edge

Canvera Digital Technologies a Bengaluru based online photography startup has raised $3 million in Series B round of funding. The round was led by Info Edge with participation from Footprint Ventures and an undisclosed investor.

The funds will be used to ramp up its services across India and product development. Info Edge so far has invested around Rs 107.4 crore in Canvera across multiple rounds. It now owns 57% stake in the company. Info Edge has also invested in other startups such as VCare, Unnati and HappilyUnmarried.

It started their operations in 2007 by Dhiraj Kacker and Peeyush Rai. It helps the users to search and hire professional photographers based on locations and occations such as fashion, babies, corporate, weddings, nature, travel and events. It allows photographers to integrate web hosting, lead generation, online collaborations, e-commerce, print & design services.

It has offices in Delhi, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. It claims to hace registered around 17,500 photographers across 1100 cities on its platform. It also offers photo printing solutions like coffee table books and photo books besides the ability for users to publicly or privately host their photo albums.

In 2008, it raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Footprint Ventures, Mumbai angels, Draper Fisher Jurvetson and 2 UK angel investors.
