Hyderabad based fashion talent & tech startup 6Degree has raised a seed round of $200k from Indian Angel Network. Abhishek Agarwal led the investment and will soon join the company board.
The raised funds will be used in enhancement of technology and to expand its portal’s reach. It also plans to launch enterprises solutions for fashion weeks and further expand its fashion services.
6Degree was started in 2014 by Nikhil Hegde- CEO and Amit Bhardwaj- COO. It provides a platform which brings together members of lifestyle and fashion sector including bloggers, brands, fashion designers, photographers and models. It allows them to collaborate and connect with new business opportunities, showcase its creation and to launch brands.

“Fashion as a genre cannot be underrated and it is important to integrate technology with fashion. Our aim is to unite various domains of fashion and create one holistic group of like – minded people.”

It claims to have serve more than 2500 fashion professional and counts fashion weeks which includes Week London, India Fashion, Fashion Forward Dubai and Lakme Fashion Week among its clients.

“The fashion market in India is going to be huge in next 10 years. We have already seen Indian affluent consumers spending in Indian designer wears for their key functions and also prefers wearing international brands.”
Indian Angel Network has made more than 10 investments in 2016. In March it invested Rs 2 crore in SP Robotic Works a robotic education provider, and Rs 3.5 crore in Orahi a Gurgaon based carpooling app, In January it invested undisclosed amount of funding in DesignBids, an online marketplace for interior design and architecture services.
IAN has over 350 members, in which angel investors include Sanjeev Bikhchandani & Ajai Chowdhry Founder of HCL, chief executive of publicly listed internet company Info Edge and Sunil Munjal Managing Director of Hero Cycles.
